I finally took the sesame street personality quiz- I am Cookie Monster. I'm not really surprised. I do love me a good cookie.
How do you know when your child is watching too much TV?
So we are at Pizza Hut the other day and Rich starts talking about how he is putting on some weight and maybe he should do something about that. My precious 6 1/2 year old looks at Rich, dead serious (and trying to be helpful) and says ..."Try Jenny." I almost peed my pants laughing! And he had no idea why we were laughing- that was the best part of the whole thing. This is how you know that your child watches too much TV.

What the heck????
So, when I logged in this time, I had to change my account to a google account or some stupid thing. Apparently my husband and I picked the same password, and we have the same e-mail address, so now all my posts are being signed rburnsy and my profile is gone. If any of you wonderful computer geeks (and I say that as a term of endearment) out there can help me fix this, please let me know.
Stupid blogger.

It's been a LONG time
So, I haven't posted in, well, forever. Part of the reason for this is that I, like gagknee, am not able to get onto any blogs or otherwise fun websites while at work. And when I am at home, I rarely have time to look at much online. So, I apologize for the delay, and will try harder to post more often. Everything is pretty much the same here. Ethan is playing coach pitch and Natalie is playing T-ball. It's actually pretty funny to watch. Also we have discovered that our cat Phoebe has OCD. That's obsessive compulsive disorder for those of you who have been in a closet for 20 or more years. She licks all of her fur off, supposedly because she has too much nervous energy. The vet tells me that it is Rich's fault because he was home with her for 2 months and then left her to go back to work. Other than her looking ridiculous though, it doesn't seem to bother her too much. Too bad, she used to be such a pretty cat.

That sounds like rock and/or roll...
So, Ethan got a drum set for Christmas. He is actually not bad considering that he has not had any lessons. He has decent rhythm. Here he is banging away:
It's actually a nice set- the drums are wooden and fully tunable. Maybe he'll follow in his Dad's musical footsteps but in a different way-although it would be cool if he could sing too!

Prayers needed for Ryan's family
I am not sure how many of you know Rich's brother Ryan, but his trailer in Lebanon burned this weekend. It's pretty much just a shell now. It happened just before 9 on Saturday morning. Everyone got out okay- they only lost one cat, but they lost almost everything inside. Anything that didn't burned got pretty much ruined by the water and smoke. Here is the story- there is a short video. http://www.wcsh6.com/news/search/article.aspx?storyid=46685
Anyway- his family could definitely use prayer- he thankfully had insurance but they are unsure of what they are going to do for housing right now- Rich's mom has the room and they are going back and forth between there and a friend's house. They have 2 children- Zachary is 7 and Sierra is 6.

The apple doesn't fall far....
So Ethan has a new obsession these days- anything with a motor, especially sports cars, ESPECIALLY Mustangs. I have no problem with this, in fact it makes me relieved that he is truly a boy and hopefully will always be one.:o) (Does anyone else ever worry about this?) However, I did accuse my husband of steering Ethan towards the Mustang, which he adamantly denies. The kid does have a great eye for detail, though. All of his drawings are race cars these days and they're pretty good. He also says things to me like "Hey Mom, that truck is just like yours, except the wheels are different." and "That truck is just like Daddy's except the grill is different." I don't even know what my wheels look like. I have a feeling he's going to be one of those kids that know what year the car is just by looking at the body style or the wheels or something. And Rob doesn't even live anywhere near here, so it can't be HIS influence. It must just be genetic. (From Rich, not Rob. Maybe that didn't sound right.)
What is that supposed to be?
So now I am becoming a seamstress and all around crafty girl. I made the ear of corn costume Natalie wore for pilgrim night at AWANA. I didn't even have a pattern! Ethan was an indian, of course.(Although he tells me these days that they are not indians- they are native americans.) So I was pretty proud of myself, and hopefully you knew what the costume was before I explained it! The other 2 pictures are from halloween- they are store bought costumes. Ethan makes a very convincing Ninja.

It's been a while...
So I was just checking the blogs and realized that I hadn't posted in over a month! Not that I haven't been busy or anything, but that's a long time. Richard is back to work so life is becoming normal again. (normal=crazy). I have been shoveling a lot of horse poo, as I work off Madison's board. It's tiring work, but I am going to have some buff arms for next summer!!! :o) It also means I get very little sleep. Oh well. I really didn't have anything to say, just thought I should say something. I will tell you something cute Natalie said the other day. She was talking about the horse we had last year that passed away (his name was Talk Tough). She said "Mommy, Talk Tough is in heaven, right?" I told her he was. She said that she missed him but was glad that she would see him again someday. Then she said "But I won't be able to ride him in heaven." I asked her why and she said "Because the clouds would be too slippery!" Too cute.

Our New Baby
So, we have a new addition to our family. He has four legs and four hooves. His name is Madison and he is Natalie's new pony. He is only 1 1/2 years old. So she can't ride him yet, but we are having a good time teaching him new things. He has the greatest temperament, and he doesn't spook at anything. I was not going to buy a new horse right now, but she made me an offer on this pony I couldn't refuse and Natalie has been in love with him since the day he was born. He was born right there at the barn where we ride, we have known him from day 1. Plus, I can work off all of his board in only 8 hours a week. (Believe me, Natalie will be helping me with the work when she gets a little bigger! She already helps take care of her pony.) She was so cute the day she found out he was her's. She kept saying "He's mine? For real?" It was cute.
